Wilting Words

by MiC Lee-Price

Have we not said that love, such love as ours,

Is as precious as the petals of a rose?

Would we allow it to perish,

Would we wish to damn our loving souls?

Bitter words should not be spoken,

Angry words often said in haste...

Many regrets for remarks murmured,

What I said was my mistake -

Loving words can make a marriage,

Hateful words can hearts break.

Let not the hearts be disparaged,

By wilting words said in haste.

No foolish words should devour,

All the passion within our souls.

Let the rose forever flower,

Allow our LOVE to always grow.
